To promote an investment environment through a high
quality service centre, via streamlined and enhanced procedures for
the registration and commencement of projects. The GIA Aden through
its one stop shop facilitates processes to investors by providing
integrated services with all relevant government agencies.

One-Stop-Shop

The
one stop shop concept is what you need to start and manage your projects
or investments because most of the representatives of the government
offices are available in theGeneraI lnvestment Authority. Their task is to
register projects of investors and issuing licenses to them. Those
representatives are:
The one stop shop concept makes theses services available:

Registering projects according to the companies law.

issuing the initial license to start the
project.

issuing residency visa for investors and
foreign labor who work in the project.

Following up services and aftercare.
The one stop shop concept makes these services available for the
following sectors:
Industrial, Agriculture, Hotels, Hospital, residential compounds
Telecommunications, Meeting and exhibition centers in addition to that the
services of transferring and distributing water and gas.

5 Generic Steps

The investor submits the application to the project officer. The
project officer checks the validity of data that all requirements are
satisfied, and all supporting documents are present. He signs at a
designated space attesting that the application has been reviewed and
validated.

After concluding step 1, the investor pays the fees. The clerk who
receives the money signs on the designated space on the form and
issues a receipt to the investor.

The application is then processed. A slip is issued to the
investor which specifies the follow-up date.

The OSS manager reviews the file (form and supporting documents)
and then signs on the designated space on the form. The entire file is
then transferred to the related delegate or department in the back
office for issuing the outputs (approval, license, permit etc.).

The OSS receives the output documents and prepares them for pick
up by the investor.

The PU endeavors to enhance and promote the
investment environment through a high quality service centre.

While the one-stop-shop is specialised to accompany new investors step by
step for the investment procedure, PU task is to enhance investment
conditions and promotion environment. That is why document and information
management of all investment related documents and websites is one task of
PU. Other important tasks are to provide networking facilities of investment
promotion and private sector development institutions as well as develop an
investor’s tracking system for regular follow-up after the investor’s
implementation period.
